MEET YOUR HOST

Hi, I’m Gretchen Wegner!

Over my last 20+ years as a teacher, academic coach, and educator trainer, I’ve been asked one question more than any other: “How do you motivate unmotivated students?!”

While there’s no magic wand, after coaching 300+ neurodiverse learners, observing classrooms worldwide, and training over 1000 educators, one truth stands out:

The right strategy, taught at the right time in the right way, can motivate students — but taught poorly, it can kill their drive.

I’ve become obsessed with a new question: how can educators refine our skills to choose the right strategy at the right time and teach it in a way that unlocks students’ authentic engagement?

To find out, I’ve gathered innovative, heart-centered educators in tutoring, coaching, and executive function to share their most effective strategies and unpack how to teach them for maximum impact.

Now, I invite you to join us and leave with fresh tools and renewed energy to motivate your students — and possibly even yourselves!

  • Karen Tui Boyes

"Gretchen has been a trusted speaker at several of my online conferences, and I'm so excited that she's now launching her own Summit. She will be an incredible host -- smart, playful, rigorous, compassionate. I can't wait to be a speaker myself, and I just know we're all going to be in the best of hands."

I've been a fan of Gretchen since I left teaching to become a coach, and I consider her a true mentor and leader in education. Gretchen knows what works when helping overwhelmed students learn how to manage school. She is a rockstar in education because she speaks her truth and knows how to do it in a way that makes people's ears perk up. Thank you for all you do, Gretchen!

  • "I had just launched my ADHD coaching business and found that some of my student clients don't know where to begin when studying and doing school work. This is the stuff we should have learned in my teaching credential program. It seems like a no-brainer that this would be part of the program but sadly it was not.”

“Turning the 'Science of Learning' into practical and useful study advice is not easy - but Gretchen has done it incredibly well, incredibly effectively, and in an incredibly engaging manner. I am certain you will walk away with a far better sense of how to take control of your own learning (as a student) and a far better sense of how to lead and inspire others to do the same (as a teacher).”

 Have questions? We’ve got answers!

  • Are you passionate about helping students upgrade their academic skills? We’ll be specifically talking to tutors and academic coaches (and other education professionals who work with students 1:1 on success strategies), but anyone else is welcome to join us if you care about helping students become self-sufficient, engaged learners.

  • Our launch party is on October 16, and then speaker sessions go from October 17 to 19. However, the minute you sign up you can join our private online community hosted by the Anti-Boring Learning Lab. That way you can join in on the fun right away!

  • No problem! Most of the presentations are pre-recorded, and between October 17-20 you have 48-hour access to them. Please also prioritize joining in the asynchronous chat so that you can network and learn from other passionate academic coaches and tutors.

If you’re not able to watch the sessions within the 48-hour timeframe, we’ve got you covered!  Grab your free ticket first, and then you’ll have the opportunity to upgrade to the All-Access Pass, which will give you a year to watch and learn (and potentially share the videos with your students as well)!

  • Your free ticket includes 48-hour access to each presentation during the October 17-19 window. If you need more time, you can always upgrade your ticket to the All-Access Pass after registering, which will give you extended access to the presentations along with premium bonuses from our speakers and more!

  • To avoid tech glitches, give you the best possible experience, and keep things easy for the speakers, the presentations are pre-recorded and will be released in groups each day of the summit. However, many of our speakers will be hanging out in our private community with dedicated threads where you can connect with them and ask your questions! There will also be opportunities to join us for bonus live events. Check the schedule to find out more about these.

  • No. When you register, you’ll be added to the Anti-Boring Learning Lab email list so we can send you updates for the event and links to each day’s presentations. After the summit is over, you’ll continue to hear from us, but you can unsubscribe at any time.

Each of the speakers will have free resources available that you can access by providing an email address, but the speakers will not automatically get your email address unless you choose to give it to them specifically. That way, you only hear from the people you really love and don't have to worry about getting added to 30+ email lists that you're not interested in.

  • Yes. All presentations have closed captioning. If you upgrade to the All-Access Pass, we will also provide a 75+ page Cheatsheet for all the presentations. You’ll see the options for upgrading after registering for the event. Please reach out if there’s anything we can do to ensure you’re able to enjoy this event.

  • If you still have questions, we encourage you to sign up. Your questions will likely be answered during the event or in the private community inside the Anti-Boring Learning Lab, which you’ll be able to join right away after grabbing your free ticket. However, if you need to ask us a question before registering, feel free to send us an email at officewiz@antiboringlearninglab.com.
